Weekend Recap – White Rock Dallas

The weather was absolutely superb in D-town this weekend. I couldn’t help myself but be outside. Saturday morning I woke up and hit the lake for a 10 mile run. It was a harder run than I would have liked, but feeling confident I’ll be in marathon shape before the big 3-0 birthday! The fiancee is about to be bombarded by tax season, so he wanted to make a point to spend some time at the Dallas Arboretum before he is locked away for the next 3 months. Our Sunday Funday started out at an Oak Cliff legend, Norma’s Cafe. A retro diner, the kindof place where the cinnamon rolls need their own zip code, and your coffee cup is never below half full.

After devouring this monstrosity, we desperately needed a walk. We strolled around the Arboretum grounds for a few hours, checking out the lovely scenery… how sweet is this bench?!?

Taking a little siesta on the hill overlooking White Rock Lake…

And we capped off the afternoon with a nice Texas brew at one of our favorite patios, Capitol Pub.
